My experience with the Kids Academy at Life Time Fitness has been deeply upsetting and has left me questioning whether my son and I are truly welcome in this space. My five-year-old son is active, curious, and enjoys exploring his environment. On several occasions, I have been contacted within approximately 10 to 20 minutes of dropping him off and told that he needed to leave because he was attempting to enter different play areas, open doors, climb, or was not following directions. I understand that safety must be taken seriously, but I was disappointed that removing him appeared to be the first response instead of communicating with me and attempting to understand what activities, interests, or accommodations might help him engage safely. The facility has several designated areas for climbing, outdoor play, arts and crafts, blocks, puzzles, and physical activity. However, I was told that because the Kids Academy was understaffed, they could not provide my son with the supervision or attention he needed and would have to send him away. I was also concerned when I was told that he had attempted to enter an accessible supply closet. In my opinion, areas containing supplies should

Hello, (KIDS ACADEMY) ‼️ I’m a member at Lifetime in Old Orchard and regularly leave my children (ages 6 and 7) in the Kids Academy. Today I invited my sister, who lives in Romeoville, to visit so she could sign up for a membership and use the child care for her own children as well. When we went to pick up my children, one of the staff members was speaking very harshly to the young children in the room. She repeatedly told them not to leave toys on the floor because she was cleaning. Her facial expression was very angry, and the way she spoke to the children was rude and intimidating. She kept pointing her finger at them while talking. I don’t think she noticed that we were standing off to the side before approaching the front desk. When my children came out, they asked me not to leave them there anymore because, in their words, “the people there are rude.” That was very upsetting to hear. If you leave your young children there, please be aware that they may be spoken to this way when parents are not present. Unfortunately, very young children often cannot explain what happens to them. I have visited many Lifetime locations and have never experienced anything like this befor

I’ve taken over 20 group Pilates classes with Suzuka, and I’ve seen amazing improvements in my core strength, posture, and flexibility. I’ve also taken private lessons with her, where she helped me build a strong foundation in the basics of Pilates. For Mother’s Day, I even booked a private session for my mom and me. She absolutely loved it and is already hoping to take more classes in the future! I’m also excited to keep taking more of Suzuka’s CTR classes. Thank you, Suzuka, for being such an encouraging and knowledgeable instructor!

5 starts are not enough for Victorija and the team she has hired and trained during her short tenure so far at LT Romeoville. I am a working mom of two babies, 20 months and 7 months old. At the end of my last maternity leave, my husband and I joined LT and utilized the services at Kids Academy everyday until I had to return to work. Victorija and her team were and are welcoming, caring, communicative, and so deeply supportive of me during one of the hardest transitions of my adult life. Since returning to work in the city, my children's routine of going to the gym and "playing with their friends" everyday has provided stability and a sense of community for which I will be forever grateful. Lifetime boasts a reputation of being a whole life company, not just a gym. The second family we have found there has proven that to be so true. We have recently purchased a home and one of the priorities was proximity to the Romeoville location because this team has become so interwoven into our life routine in the best way. I really don't know what I would do with them. Victorija's leadership and management skills in particular deserve their own separate 5+ star review. She has cultivated a

Suzuka’s small group Pilates class is truly one of the best investments I’ve made in myself!! Since starting back in February, I’ve genuinely fallen back in love with working out and actually look forward to showing up ant LT every week. Suzuka is so knowledgeable, motivating, and creates such a fun, welcoming environment while still pushing you to challenge yourself. I’ve seen such an incredible difference in my body over the last few months. my flexibility has improved, I’ve finally learned how to truly engage my deep core, my posture is noticeably better, and my body looks and feels so much more toned overall. One of the coolest parts has been watching everyone in the classes improve and get stronger over time too. I challenge anyone considering it to try a class for yourself… you’ll understand immediately!
